What types of repair?

The Nin­tendo DS Lite is a very del­i­cate games con­sole… and is well known to break easily!

We repair all kinds of prob­lems with these consoles.

  • Dropped a Nin­tendo DS Lite

The most com­mon repair we do is peo­ple drop­ping their DS.

This is known to break the hinges, the plas­tics, the cables, the case, the rib­bons, the micro­phone cable, the wire­less antenna cable, the speaker cables, the top screen and even more! All of this can be repaired, though.

  • Just stopped work­ing, No power, Won’t turn on

These are all pretty much the same prob­lem. Some­times the DS will just stop turn­ing on one day, peo­ple call it dif­fer­ent things — not work­ing, no power etc. The prob­lem is most

com­monly a prob­lem with the main­board, and if you’ve researched the prob­lem then you may know that is prob­a­bly a blown fuse. There are other pos­si­ble causes though, i.e. a

faulty bat­tery, charg­ing point (dc jack) and others.

  • DS Lite won’t charge

Another quite com­mon one. Very sim­i­lar to the above prob­lem. The most com­mon causes are the charger, charg­ing point (dc jack) and faulty bat­tery. A faulty motherboard/mainboard can also cause this.

  • My kids faught over it and pulled the DS Lite apart

Yep, we’ve seri­ously had this! More than once, too. The dam­age is very sim­i­lar dam­age to

drop­ping a DS — see top of this page.

The most pop­u­lar new choice is black/white — which isn’t avail­able as stan­dard from Nintendo!

How much does it cost?

Sorry, we can’t pos­si­bly write out all the prices on a web­site. This is mainly because when dam­age is done, mul­ti­ple parts are dam­aged so we need to exam­ine the DS to find out what needs replacing/repairing. There are also fac­tors that affect price which require us to exam­ine the DS.
